, hope you guys like it.

ooobvious ghost rider influence, haha, but in the end i thought this best suited this particular fruit. i was gonna pencil sketch/ink like i’ve been doing the previous aand actually had another draft ready, buut wasn’t quite happy with it, so i took my pen and just did a rough sketch and colored it aaand voila.

I really wanted to do kinda of a frank miller sin city type look for one of the characters, and i thought with tofu…i could just that, haha.
tofu seemed like it could play the “mysterious” hero as it holds that kinda place aanyways among food
anyone who has seen sin city can tell that this character is prettty much the food version of marv, but as marv IS one of my favorite characters from sin city..i found it fitting.

Phew it’s been a busy week, I’ve meaning to color this one for awhile, but onwards with the Culinary Kick Ass Heroes!
This one iiis based off a peach. With it being a fruit I would making this hero off of, I immediately thought of making a heroine and thus Peachz was born.
Yes, she’s a bit voluptuous in figure, but hey, alotta comic book women are.

#2 on the list of Culinary Kick Ass Heroes. I borrowed the pose from the cover of Red Hulk #1, and of course mr jello man is tailored after the hulk.
The coloring was a bit more complicated on this one..i wanted to give some different shades and “gleams” to him, so used a combination of the programs Adobe Illustrator and the photoshop wanna-be GIMP 2.0, using some GIMP brushes for the background (of which i’m finding veeery useful, esp for this project)
Hope you guys like it!

So I’m trying to make the switch over to comic-style drawing/inking and, instead of boring study after study (which ironically i’ll be doing aaanyways simultaneously) i thought i would make this grueling endeavor a bit more fun for me, and the people who like my stuff.
On my facebook, i asked for a few food items, anything from carrots to a McDonald’s milkshake..i asked for 3, aaand i got like 7..8? I am, in my cartoonish fashion, going to to take these food items and make them defenders of justice and liberty. I def got some interesting ones that will be revealed later on, but i’ve decided to call this project, “CULINARY KICK ASS HEROES” (dedicated to the movie, “Kick Ass”)
During this project I will be experimenting with hatching/brush/coloring techniques, so hoping to gain a lil’ bit more knowledge of the comics way of doing things by the end of it.
To start us off today, we haave “whataburger ketchup” requested by my friend sarah.

I made hiiim a mix of Spawn/Wolverine/Punisher/Ghost Rider …ready to deal out justice the Whataburger way!

the last couple days have been dynamite, been really happy with the results and the variety in style. i’ve tried some different techniques over the last few days and hope to continue to do so, hopefully resulting in my strengthening in both style/technique. thank you Crumb for inspiring my style as of late, don’t know what i would do without you good sir. enjoy!

so literally, the thought that ran through my mind today was “something funny” aaand the concept for this cartoon was born…i wasn’t sure entirely of what the “evil bear” was going to exactly be..but i knew it involved a small child..and a laughing demonic being,
.
i wanted to enter the cartoon “mid thought” and without aaactual verbal exchange…i like that kinda humor..the kind with a lil’ mystery…basically the “WTF” element..think it adds a lot.
