Thought of the Day: Reincarnation
Reincarnation: Am I Living Up To My Past Life Potential?
So, this particular thought is based on the assumption that you believe/are open to the idea of reincarnation.
Reincarnation, according to the lovely Wikipedia, is defined as follows:
“Reincarnation, literally “to be made flesh again”, is the belief that the soul, after death of the body, comes back to earth in another body. According to one belief, a new personality is developed during each life in the physical world, but the soul remains constant throughout the successive lives.”
I personally, being an existentialist at heart, am open to the idea that our souls, or rather our “energies” exist in many different “forms”, one being in the physical bodies we inherit in this realm, while living on Earth…and upon our passing, our energies merely travel to another realm…whether that is heaven, hell, purgatory, the 7th, 11th dimension, las vegas, who knows right? Now if we are able to take different energetic forms and travel among realms, who’s to really say how long we can “live”? And with that, its interesting to think how infinite us mere mortals are eh?
I mean, whats to say that my energy, as an example, was in another physical body a 100 years ago…maybe even 1000 years ago..which brings me to the thought of the day…
If we take into consideration that there is a possibility of past life, this branches out to so many other thoughts…”if i lived a past life, what kind of person was I? was I a noble? a caveman? was I a criminal? a king?”
As I so roughly drew as an example for this post, imagine if you will that we had two objective “lives” of one person… in 92 A.D. this particular person was a warrior of warriors..slew a 1000 beasts, was the deciding factor in every war he ever was in, etc..then you have the present day “version” of this said person..working at a fast food joint..
Who knows, I mean..maybe someday that person can apply for Team Manager, but still..something missin’ eh?
But since this is all theory, we have no idea how we lived, if we lived before, etc…but it just makes you think…
So really..bringin’ this thought to a somewhat unresolving conclusion, we just have to work as hard as we can, live our lives to the fullest, and be happy for the moments we have.
