God Praise The Wacom Tablet. Hallelujah, Hallelujah.
so after a 3 year hiatus from usin’ the wacom tablet (i got busy), i finally hooked up that bad boy to my desktop and FINALLY started playing with it again..
one of my best friends had gotten me one after i graduated colegio a few years back and intially i just couldn’t get my coordination down aand it drove.me.up.the.wall! then in the last year i’ve been wanting to get back to it, buut the computer i use primarily glitched a lot with the tablet yada yada etc etc , so yesterday i put the ol’ college effort into it….and i was amazed.
now, I KNOW i’m a few years behind in regards to other “digital artists” (i mostly draw, ink, THEN scan and color on computer), but man…it feels like i discovered fire all over again!! [ignorance is bliss]
below is my first attempt in 3 years at usin’ the wacom, with a hint of photoshop for the background…i think it came out alright for now,

Rapidographs=New Weapons of Destruction! BAM BAM
so ever since i saw the documentary on one of my cartoonist idols, Mr. R Crumb, i’ve been wanting to try the rapidograph ( a veeery awesome drafting/art ink pen). Crumb is shown using rapidographs throughout the documentary, and I’ve always heard about them, just never have gotten one, either b/c of money or a time issue (ex: “i need to get this inked by tomorrow, i’ll just stick to the pens i know” ; “damn though pens are expensive! next pay check”)
so, finally got my hand on a couple different sized rapidographs and FINALLY tried them out today for my FIRST all rapidograph drawing…neeedless to say i already see personal, preferential changes to my style and already seein’ the possibilities of combinin’ these pens with some of my other tools of the trade/techniques/styles….jeremy’s one happy camper today.
here’s an experimental self caricature i did with these suckers today, everyone have a good friday now!!!
random cafe guy.
Captain ‘Merica!!!
While waitin’ for my tire to be changed…
Nostalgic post: Old MS Paint Drawings
Sooo baaack in the day, before photoshop and the monster that is Adobe, i knew of only one computer drawing/editing program: MS Paint.
It was on this dinosaur that I created my first “digital drawings”.
Today I posted a couple of these bad boys from baaack in the day to a friend’s page, thought I’d repost them here as well.
The band to which both of these drawings refer to (“Radioactive Goat” is a name of a song they play) is Freakstarr, their FB page can be found at:

Enjoy!!
